It’s easy to sit and do nothing. Complain all you want you can’t change a thing until you start something. There is a spark of energy produced by overcoming the inertia of inactivity, that glow that seems to be liberated when you begin a project. It releases creative juices. It is infectious, it affects you the creator and all those involved. It commits you to a state of anticipation born out of a longing for the completion of the project just begun. In a real sense it takes you out of a state of idleness and puts you to work. Yes work is therapeutic. It is a means of tapping into your inner resources. The act of creating something stimulates the creator, not just by the mere act but also by awakening the individual to a new awareness. This act alone initiates a chain reaction that inevitably has long-term beneficial repercussions. Boredom is easily cured. Find something productive and make a start. Plant a tree. Entertain a new idea and develop it. Develop a new interest. Just do something. You will see. You will start a ripple, which will affect all aspects of your life. You know, like throwing a stone into a pond. It always works.
